Location. The modern HEM Hotel Amsterdam is in the southwest suburbs, four kilometres from the centre of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Vondelpark, Amsterdam's largest park, is two kilometres away, as is the World Fashion Centre. The Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum are four kilometres from the hotel. Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) is 10 kilometres away. Hotel Features. The contemporary HEM Hotel Amsterdam sits in a small garden and comprises three linked buildings.
Modern art and simple wooden furniture grace HEM Restaurant which offers buffet breakfasts and a la carte lunches and dinners. There is alfresco dining in the warmer months. Traditionally decorated with red tiled floors and wicker chairs, HEM Brasserie/Bar serves beers and light meals, such as sandwiches and fried croquettes. It has a pool table, darts board and shows big screen sports.
There are five meeting rooms for up to 220 people, and wireless Internet access throughout (surcharge). The lobby has a computer with high speed Internet access (surcharge). Business services are available.
Bicycles can be hired at the hotel (surcharge may apply).
Guestrooms. The 218 guestrooms on four floors are either decorated traditionally, with check fabrics and blue tones, or in a contemporary manner with dark wood furniture and warm tones. All rooms have wireless Internet access (surcharge) and direct dial phones. Private bathrooms have showers and hair dryers.
Expert Tip. Guests can hire bikes to explore the nearby Vondelpark; its east gate leads to the museum district.

Driving Directions
From Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS): Distance to HEM Hotel Amsterdam is 10 kilometres, approximately 15 minutes' drive.
Getting there. Taxis from the airport cost around EUR 20 to the hotel. The Connexxion Schiphol Hotel Shuttle bus also runs to the hotel. Tickets can be bought on the bus and in the hotel lobby (EUR 12 one way). From Centraal Station, tram number 2 stops at Westlandgracht from where it is a short walk down Poeldijkstraat and into the Voorburgstraat; the hotel is on the right. Prices are subject to change.
Getting around. Amsterdam can easily be explored by foot. However, there are convenient bus, tram and metro services running through the city and outside areas. Cycling is also a popular way to see Amsterdam. There are taxi ranks at the central station. Driving within the canal ring is discouraged. There is parking at the hotel for 50 vehicles (surcharge).
Driving directions. From Amsterdam Schiphol Airport: Take the A10 and exit at Sloten/Schinkel (S 107). Follow the HEM Group logo signs. Turn left at the end of the exit. Turn left at Aalsmeerplein into Vlaardingenlaan. Take the first street on the right, Naaldwijkstraat. The HEM Hotel Amsterdam is located at the end of the street.
